49ers ended loss streak by beating Bears 10-6

The San Francisco 49ers Coach Mike Singletary proved what he said before the game by beating the team he played for as a player. The 49ers beat the Chicago Bears 10-6 on Thursday night.

Bears starting quarterback Jay Cutler threw a career-high five interceptions in the game and his last one came in the end zone on the game’s final play, while running back in No. 21 49ers jersey, Frank Gore ran for 104 yards and a touchdown, and quarterback Alex Smith won the first of his eight starts since Week 2 in 2007.

It was wide receiver Michael Crabtree who picked off Cutler’s final attempt in the end zone as time expired, sealing 49ers’ first win since Oct. 4 and ending a three-game losing streak.

Cutler apologized in his postgame news conference, not wearing his Bears jersey, for his bad performance in the game. It was the second time he threw four or more interceptions this season and he has had an NFL-worst record of throwing 17 interceptions totally.
