Along with the Indianapolis Colts, the New Orleans Saints kept their clean streak of winning games. The Saints went closer to a perfect season with another tight win: a 26-23 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Quarterback Drew Brees, linebacker Jonathan Vilma and kicker Garrett Hartley were among the main contributors. Brees was 31 for 40 and threw for 296 yards and three touchdowns, Vilma came up with two huge defensive plays when Falcons rallied from 14 points down, and Hartley made a 38-yard field goal with a 4:42 remaining.
Anyway the Falcons did not play a bad game, but they did not have two of its biggest stars: quarterback Matt Ryan and running back Michael Turner, who have been out for second game because of injuries. If both starters would have put on their Falcons jerseys to play the game, the result might have been different.

Falcons CB Williams suffered season-ending injury on knee
The Atlanta Falcons will have to find help at cornerback through a trade before Tuesday’s deadline as cornerback Brian Williams needs to be placed on season-ending injured reserve with torn anterior cruciate ligament.
According to Falcons Coach Mike Smith, Williams tore the anterior cruciate ligament “and some other things” in his right knee in Sunday night’s 21-14 win over the Chicago Bears. Williams landed awkwardly on his right knee while defending a pass to tight end wearing Bears jersey: Greg Olsen, in the end zone in the fourth quarter. He was replaced by Chevis Jackson on the following play. Smith also confirmed that Williams will have to undergo a reconstructive knee surgery.
With Williams’ absence, the Falcons may give more playing time to Tye Hill and Jackson, who was beaten by Olsen on a 2-yard touchdown pass whiling playing in Williams’ spot in Sunday’s game. Oct. 20th is the NFL deadline for player trade, so it was urgent for the Falcons to make a decision on Williams’ replacement.

After signing with Falcons in June, OL Newberry retires due to bad knee
The Atlanta Falcons will have to look for another offensive line depth player after veteran Jeremy Newberry, who they signed just in June, retired because of health problem. Not for bad dallas cowboys jerseys.
Newberry's agent, Doug Hendrickson, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the former longtime starting center for the San Francisco 49ers hurt his left knee. Hendrickson said Newberry's knee "just kind of went out on him recently when he was pushing hard to get ready for training camp."
At age of 33, Newberry was expected to provide depth at guard and center in the Falcons. He used to start three games the San Diego Chargers last season. Before that while he was playing for the Oakland Raiders in 2007, he started each of his 14 games.
