In time before Sunday’s home game against the San Francisco 49ers, the Indianapolis Colts have their wide receiver Reggie Wayne and defensive end Dwight Freeney return to practice Friday.
“I’ll be out there (Sunday). My knee was a little stiff this week, but it has to be real serious for me (to miss a game),” Freeney said of the knee injury he got against the St. Louis Rams last Sunday. “I’ve got the swelling down now, so I should be all right.”
Wayne and Freeney were listed questionable along with defensive tackle Eric Foster and tight end Jacob Tamme after Friday’s practice. Two starters have been confirmed to start wearing their Colts jerseys against the 49ers this Sunday: quarterback Peyton Manning practiced on limited basis Friday and safety Bob Sanders went through the workout.
