Another NFL player was arrested for DUI

This time it was the Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown, who was stopped by officer late Friday while driving to his hometown outside of Atlanta and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the Miami Herald reports, Brown was pulled over because he was making a lane change without using his blinker. Then he was arrested and stayed in jail overnight before being released early Saturday morning. The team has not made any comment on the arrest except for saying that they were aware of the situation.

The 28-year-old Brown has spent all of the past five seasons with the Dolphins but only finished one season in 2008. Last season he missed seven games after suffering a season-ending Lisfranc injury and became a restricted free agent earlier this offseason, however, he is still expected to wear back the Dolphins jersey for the 2010 season as the team has offered him a first-round tender.Get Chitika | Premium

Chargers WR Jackson will face imprisonment and suspension

The San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson entered his plea on Monday, pleading to DUI charge and accepting sentence for four days in jail and five years of probation. He may also receive a one-game suspension from the league because it has been the second time he was convicted of DUI.

The last time he pleaded guilty to a DUI charge was in 2006 and he was still on probation for that charge when he was arrested again in January 2009. Jackson will also be arraigned on March 2 for driving with a suspended license. It was a few hours before the Chargers’ playoff loss to the New York Jets when Jackson was handcuffed briefly and had his car impounded following a traffic stop that was caused by playing loud music.

According to City Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Gina Coburn, Jackson will pay $2,408 of fine and commit 10 days of public work service. Last time he was ordered to give five days of public work service. The jail time can be served as work release and Jackson can report between now and March 23. Hope this time he learns how to drive in a safe way. As a pro star athlete in NFL jersey, he should at least make sure he is not a public threat to others’ life even if he does not take himself as public example of behavior.

Dolphins CB Allen was arrested for drunk driving

According the Associated Press reports, the Miami Dolphins cornerback Will Allen was arrested Saturday under the charge of driving under the influence. He was later released from a Miami jail on $1,000 bond on Sunday morning.

According to jail records, Allen was being held at the Pretrial Detention Center in Miami on $1,000 bond after he was arrested at nearly 3:37 a.m. Saturday morning while driving a white Lamborghini Gallardo. Before being found that he was under influence of alcohol Allen attempted to drive on a blocked causeway despite a detour sign instructing cars to take another route. Although he was told by police several times that the causeway was closed, Allen insisted getting through and an officer noticed a "strong odor of alcohol," before he complied. Then Breathalyzer tests were administrated and showed that Allen’s blood alcohol levels are .152 and .167.

It was the first time Allen was arrested. The 31-year-old cornerback put on NFL jerseys nine years ago as the New York Giants’ first round pick. He became an unrestricted free agent five after playing five seasons in New York and was signed by the Dolphins before the 2006 season.
