Cowboys are expecting RT Colombo and RB Choice to play playoff

Before this Sunday’s playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles, what the Dallas Cowboys want most is to have right tackle Marc Colombo and running back Tashard Choice return to team. Both have been listed as probable for Saturday’s game.

Colombo has not played a game since breaking his left leg and sustaining ligament damage in his ankle during Nov. 15’s game against the Green Bay Packers. He returned to practice Tuesday and finished some workouts with the first-team offense.


No. 3 running back Choice sustained a concussion during last week’s regular-season finale against the Eagles and left the field with the game still going on. Whether he could play well only less than a week after sustaining the concussion remains unsure. But it is more unsure whether safety Patrick Watkins could wear back his Cowboys jersey for the first-round playoff game as he has been inactive the last three games because of a sprained left knee.

Cowboys beat Eagles 24-0, winning NFC East

The Dallas Cowboys finally turned over from last season’s season-ending loss to the Philadelphia Eagles by beating the Eagles 24-0 in this season’s final game. The blowout victory also set the 11-5 Cowboys’ position in the playoffs.

Winning the NFC East, the Cowboys win the host of a rematch in the first round of the playoffs next weekend. Plus, Tony Romo, who threw a pair of early touchdown passes, along with the entire offense, set all sorts of single-season records, including having a winning record after Dec. 1 for the first time since 1996 and ending a nine-game losing streak in season finales. And if they continue to win, there will be a first playoff win since 1996.


Despite opening December with two consecutive losses, the Cowboys soon started a new winning streak by sending the 13-0 New Orleans Saints their first loss of the season, shutting out the Washington Redskins 17-0 and without allowing the Eagles to score a single point in the season finale. So for all those who love Cowboys jerseys, they have enough reasons to believe that the Cowboys will be able to win the playoff this time.

Miles Austin proved to be real No.1 receiver

Structural defects could be the cause for Cowboys collapsed facility

On Tuesday, a draft report was released by a federal agency, who investigated the Cowboys practice facility accident that injured a dozen people. The report said the facility should have survived the May 2 thunderstorm in the Dallas suburb of Irving.


The National Institute of Standards and Technology said the steel and fabric building fell during the storm while the wind speed was 55 mph to 65 mph, far less than the 90 mph wind speed specified by engineering standards for that location. The agency mentioned in the report that Summit Structures LLC, the building’s manufacturer, assumed that the roof fabric could provide support for the frame. Other contributing factors cited by the agency were incorrect calculations of the height and slope of the roof and the assumption that the building was fully enclosed when in fact it had vents and doors.

The collapse of the Cowboys 88,000-square-foot structure injured 12 people, among whom team scouting assistant Rich Behm was paralyzed from the waist down. Behm and Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillas, who suffered a broken vertebra, are suing the Summit Structures and others associated with the project.

Dallas Cowboys scouting assistant Rich Behm, who got paralyzed in the May collapse of the team’s indoor practice facility, is determined to walk again. Cowboys leaders hope that his determination will give positive influence on players.

In his first public comments since the May collapse of the team’s indoor practice facility, Behm says he is still trying to learn how to deal with life well in a wheelchair. He lost the use of his legs in the accident that injured two other Cowboys staff members. No players wearing minnesota vikings jersey were found there.

Behm spoke Sunday at a charity fundraiser for him, his wife and their three young children, saying that he is considering a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the facility.
